Information on the EORI customs number

The EORI number (Economic Operators' Registration and Identification number) is a unique number issued in the European Union by the competent authorities to identify economic operators and, where appropriate, other persons to the customs authorities............
...........Persons who are not economic operators do not need an EORI number if they only occasionally - i.e. less than ten per year - submit written or electronic customs declarations (Art. 9 (3) UCC in conjunction with Art. 6 UCC-DA). This also applies if they are directly represented by a service provider (e.g. postal or express service provider).
